17 July – 21 July 2017
The team have had a busy week at the WRMH HQ, delivering some great courses as well as wrapping up some important tasks before the summer break!
The WRMH team had a productive meeting today to discuss exciting developments for the Maths Hub before they break up for summer at the end of this week. Kelsey also did some work on our new schemes of learning – these free teaching resources are part of the WRMH primary and secondary curriculum plan, which supports ‘Teaching for Mastery’. The new schemes are shared through the TES website – some of our more detailed ones will be releasing during the summer holiday period, so look out for these!
Caroline was busy delivering a model lesson at a school in York. These are a fantastic way of observing how maths can be delivered in a fun and engaging way. The model lessons are part of our bespoke school-to-school support sessions, which can be used to support maths teaching in schools. For further information on these, please click here. Stephanie also led a CPD training session today, which are great for developing a deeper understanding of concepts and learning how to implement them successfully in the classroom.
Stephen was busy delivering a fantastic Bar Modelling twilight session on Wednesday at a local primary school. Take a look at some great photos from his session:
Bar modelling is unsurprisingly one of our most popular course offerings – it is an incredibly powerful tool, which can be used all the way from Year 1 to Year 11. To find out more about our Bar Modelling training, and to find your nearest provider, click here.
In other news this week, the team also bid a fond farewell to the WRMH marketing director Hayley on Friday. She will very much be missed by the whole Maths Hub team, and we wish her good luck for all her future endeavours!
