23 May – 27 May

A week of GCSE Maths focus, a spectacular 3 for 2 deal and the adventures of one very clever dog…

Monday: This week the secondary WRMH team have been unusually quiet as they focus on the GCSE examination on Thursday. The week got off to a flying start for Tony as he discussed plans with two Teaching School Alliances who are interested in working with us to deliver twilight Bar Modelling courses. Tuesday:  Edele (our hub’s administrator- in the maths hub world she’s more well-known than the singer Adele!) spent her morning searching for a mobile phone, set of car keys and a pair of glasses – all for our top secret project which will be revealed in coming weeks.  After successfully locating the items she returned to her desk just in time to take the first whole-school booking for 2017.  Meanwhile, Caroline put the finishing touches on our Y7 schemes and assessments. There has been lots of interest in them already. Y8 and Y9 will follow shortly.  If you want to find out more about our new schemes and teaching for mastery, why not attend our FREE Shanghai Experience day on 16 June.

Wednesday:  Beth and Kelsey returned to the office to work on the hub’s Summer Assessments. These will be released at the end of June. Our assessments have received some fantastic feedback over the year and we are thrilled to hear that our resources are helping students nationwide to engage with maths. That evening, Kelsey returned home to find that her dog Chunky had managed to break into her room and was snuggled up in her bed – he can’t wait for the holidays to arrive!

Thursday: With summer approaching the team met to discuss their holiday plans. Whilst they cannot guarantee sunshine here anytime soon, they can promise you a spectacular deal! Our ‘Summer Madness’ deal offers 3 for 2 across all of our June courses. You can either book on to a combination of different courses, or book three delegates on to the same course. In all cases, the lowest priced item is free. You’d be mad to miss out!  To find out more please click here and to receive all of our latest offers directly into your inbox, sign up to our newsletter.

Friday:  Paul had a productive day writing next years’ Teaching for Mastery course content. Later, he geared up for his and Tony’s trip to London where they are participating in the ultimate team building challenge – the Crystal Maze. We look forward to hearing how many gold tickets they win!

The WRMH, including Chunky the dog, would like to wish everyone a relaxing half term holiday.
